At MUSE of My Own, we design fine jewelry for real life—so it only makes sense that most of our pieces are always in stock, ready to ship.
But because we care about not making more than what’s truly wanted, you’ll occasionally see styles or sizes listed as pre-order. These pieces are made to order, not mass-produced. That’s how we reduce waste, keep our footprint light, and still offer beautiful, long-lasting gold jewelry you’ll want to wear every day.
Pre-ordering simply means your piece will be crafted and shipped within a few weeks—just for you.
Below, we’ve answered the most common questions about how our pre-orders work.
Why do you offer pre-orders?
Because we believe in making just enough, not too much.
Our jewelry is made in small, thoughtful batches in Europe. When a piece sells out, we open pre-orders so you can still secure it — and we only produce what’s truly needed.
It’s better for the planet, and it means less waiting, fewer markups, and zero excess.
How do pre-orders work?
When an item is out of stock but available for pre-order, you’ll see a message on the product page and be able to check out as usual.
Once you place your pre-order:
- Your piece is reserved and queued for production
- You’ll receive an order confirmation immediately
- We’ll notify you once it ships
How long will it take to receive my pre-order?
Pre-order lead times typically range from 6 to 9 weeks, depending on the item and production schedule.

Will I be charged immediately?
Yes — your payment is processed at checkout to reserve your piece. Because everything is made in limited runs, this ensures your item is made just for you.
Can I cancel or return a pre-order?
Our standard return policy applies to pre-orders too: You can return your item within 30 days of receiving it, as long as it’s unworn and in original condition.
What if I ordered other in-stock items with a pre-order?
Orders containing both in-stock and pre-order items will usually ship together once all items are available. If you’d prefer split shipping, just email us at hello@museofmyown.com after placing your order.
Is every product available for pre-order?
Not always. We offer pre-orders only for select styles that are being restocked. If a product isn’t available to pre-order, it likely won’t be restocked right away — but you can sign up for back-in-stock alerts on the product page or through our newsletter.
Why should I pre-order instead of waiting?
Because it guarantees you’ll get the piece before it sells out again — and helps us produce exactly what’s needed, without excess.
It’s a smarter, slower, more intentional way to shop fine jewelry.
